After the zoo, we decided to hit up the Butterfly house. They also have aquariums with different kind of fish. Macyn was quite impressed and was happy she could see something by standing on the bench. We also got to see the baby shark get fed.
Once we were finished looking at the aquariums, we went into the butterfly part. Macyn really liked this, but got a little scared when one landed on her head. This was a really neat place with TONS of butterflies. They even had cocoons that were starting to open (not sure if that's the correct terminology, my 8th grade biology class is failing me). Here are some of the butterflies we saw:
The cool thing is, the butterfly on the top right hand size has an 8" wingspan and only lives for 3-5 days. It was really neat to see. Here is Josh's hand next to it for comparison.
This was a nice, relaxed place to go. It had benches, ponds, streams, and guides if you had any questions. Macyn enjoyed seeing all the butterflies and pointing at them and saying, "OOhhhh!"
On the way out the had a two way mirror so we decided to take a family picture.
All in all, this was a great place to go and a great place for kids. It was extremely hot and humid in there, but it was a nice, relaxing end to our day.
