Pumpkin Patch!
We
made our yearly trip to our local pumpkin patch - and the kids loved
it! Macyn was able to paint her pumpkin and the twins found a set of
twin boys :) We love having this afternoon trip be a yearly tradition.
Always great times and great place to go!

Pumpkin Patch 2013
We continued the yearly tradition and headed out to Diane's pumpkin
patch. It was a little chilly, but not too bad. We enjoyed picking our
pumpkins out of the patch and catching up with the owner who I used to
work with in high school. Macyn enjoyed painting her pumpkin, the hay
ride, and picking out some for the twins! We love making this a
tradition and hope to continue!

Pumpkin Patch 2011
Since it was a nice day out, we decided to go to the pumpkin patch! We went to the same one last year and once again wanted to hit up the one nearby, but we are so busy on Saturdays and unfortunately, they are not open on Sundays. We love this pumpkin patch and small town feel. Initially when we got there, it was only us and one other family. However, Macyn was super scared for some reason. Not sure if she was scared by all the pumpkins or what. Who knows. She did warm up once we began taking pictures in the cutouts.
After she warmed up to the cutouts and seeing all the pumpkins on the field, we decided to go for a ride on the wagon ride. She was not a fan and stayed cuddled in the entire way.
After all the "scary" stuff was over, it was time to hit up the patch and find some pumpkins! We had a good time out in the field with only a couple of tantrums over who would pull the wagon. :)
And then, all of a sudden, it happened! Macyn found the perfect pumpkin!
After we paid for all our pumpkins (5 for $9!), you had the opportunity to paint the pumpkins for free. Since Macyn does a little bit of painting at daycare, we thought we would give it a shot. We were pleasantly surprised to find paint shirts, fresh cups of paint, and blow dryers to dry your creation faster. Macyn was totally into this and painted her pumpkin with minimal paint on her hands (she hates ANYTHING on her hands) and only a little bit of pink paint in her mouth. She did the painting 100 percent by herself and picked out the colors she wanted. Her favorite color is "mink!" (pink).
It was a fun afternoon spent together. Here is how her first ever painted pumpkin turned out. I'm so proud of her artistic skills :)

Pumpkin Patch
They have free wagons to use to go the patch which is pretty large! They also had goodies you could buy, pumpkin painting, some animals, cutouts where you can put your head, a free wagon ride, and tons of photo ops. The pumpkins were super cheap too. We each got one and our total was $8, and these are no small pumpkins! It was even more fun to look for some in the patch. The same person runs a tree farm at Christmas so we are thinking about hitting that up this winter.I believe Diane's Pumpkin Patch will be a tradition from now on. We didn't go last year because 1) Macyn was a newborn, and who really brings newborns to a pumpkin patch? and 2) Last year there was a small layer of snow on the ground, but today it was a nice 78 degrees!
But all in all, but was an awesome place to have some family time on a Sunday afternoon, and we will definitely go here in the future as well.
