Fishing Fan

Ever since Macyn got a fishing pole for Easter, she has been eager to use it. Usually when we go fishing I usually just cast hers outs with only a bobber, so we don't have to worry about the hook. Since the fish were biting, we decided to let her actually catch a fish with her pink princess fishing pole.

Now since she has caught a few fish, she always says, "Mom, catch one!" ...like its super easy. Or, I will reel in her line and say, "I got some sea weed" and she responds, "Don't catch seaweed, mom, catch a fish!"

...why didn't I think of that? :)

Gone Fishing!

Since it was free fishing weekend, we decided to venture out and have a picnic, and see if we could catch any fish. Macyn was pretty excited to go!

We first found a spot to fish, and then set up our camping grill along with our fold up table. We bought the table last year for camping, and I am surprised how much we use it. Its so easy to transport! We grilled some brats and had a nice picnic with some chips and nutty bars for dessert.

After lunch we decided to give fishing a try. We didn't even get a nibble, but we did see the fish swim up to our bait and stare at it. They weren't going to bite. We ended up not fishing too long since we had to head home and let Macyn take her nap. She was just happy to use her Cinderella fishing pole!

Gone Fishin'

It was such a nice afternoon that we decided to head over to the local pit and do some swimming and fishing! We swam first and then took a snack break and fished. Our prime fishing spot was taken by some other people, so we found this nice, calm, area in the shade. Despite our efforts, we didn't catch any fish. I was hoping we would so we could see Macyn's reaction. She enjoys copying us when we cast out our lines. She walks around with her pole and acts like she is throwing it and then she sits and watches. Super cute!

She was getting sleeping when this picture was taken. It was nice that she was so cooperative while we were fishing. I think we could make this a weekly activity that we can all do and enjoy.
