Lucky Macyn got to go the dentist for the first time on Halloween! She wasn't so sure about it at first (you will see what I mean), but she ended up doing really well! They flossed, cleaned, and put floride on her teeth. The dentist and assistants liked her costume. Macyn asked the dentist, "What are you for Halloween?" His response, "A dentist." Macyn just looked at him funny :)
And, after this we went trick or treating. Someone asked her if she's going to eat all her candy. Her response? "No, I just got my teeth cleaned."

Halloween Costume(s)! DIY
This year for Halloween, we went for some "easy" DIY costumes. Macyn had a few different costumes since she had her regular costume, and two separate parties at preschool/daycare.
Costume #1: Dr. Seuss's the Cat in the Hat featuring Thing 1 and Thing 2
Macyn's Cat in the Hat: Black shirt and pants from her closet, a red bow made out of ribbon, and a hat that I had from when I was a kid
Twin's Thing 1 and Thing 2 : Glued a blue feather boa to hats to make their wigs, and my friend from college made the onesies
Costume #2: Ballerina (worn to pre-school party)
Macyn wore a pair of tights we already owned, a dance costume from a garage sale for $1, and a hair bow she borrowed from the twins
Costume #3: Vikings Cheerleader (worn to daycare and trick or treating)
Macyn decided the night before (we don't procrastinate or anything) that she wanted to be a cheerleader. We already had a cheerleader dress that Grandma bought her. All she needed was some pom poms. I ran to Walmart and picked up some tablecloths and duct tape and went to town. The pom poms actually turned out pretty well and she still plays with them. We added some ribbon to her pigtails to complete the look. She insisted on wearing her cowboy boots to be a cheerleader (I think she has watched the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader show a few too many times)
The twins were still Thing 1 and Thing 2:

Family Photos 2013
October was filled with photo shoots, and here are some of our favorites from our family session! Macyn wasn't exactly cooperative. She started out well, and once we began our family ones she pouted, crossed her arms, and announced that she "didn't want to take pictures anymore." So, I was beyond shocked that we actually got a few good ones to choose from!

Kamryn & Laityn: 6 Months
They are continuing to get stronger and roll all around. Because of this, we have switched them to separate cribs. I think they miss each other a little bit, but I'm sure they don't miss being smothered by eachother! We have also introduced cereal this past month and they are starting to get the hang of eating from a spoon. We have tried green beans as well. I had the camera all ready to get the funny faces, and they didn't even pucker! They just gobbled the green beans right up! They can also sit up momentarily with the help of a boppy pillow. Its nice that they don't always have to lay down, and I think they like seeing the world from a different perspective.
• Kamryn: 13lbs 5oz, 25" long
• Laityn: 13lbs 3oz, 25" long
• Both enjoy jumping in the jumperoo - so much until they fall asleep in it
• Kamryn is still more mellow, but can get mad too
• Laityn is the smiley one, while it takes a little coaxing to get Kamryn to smile
• Both has some pretty awesome belly laughs!
• When we lay them down facing eachother, they smile :)
• Both love their baths and like to kick their legs
• They are drinking 5oz consistently in addition to their baby food
• They like to get up around 2:30 at night and I spoke to my doctor about this, and she suggested letting them cry it out since they get enough calories during the day. She said they may just get up because they know they can get a bottle
• Both girls refuse pacifiers completely! Its not the worst thing in the world, but it would be nice if they would take one sometimes
• Kamryn doesn't like to keep her hands to herself. She always has to touch Laityns face, grab Laityn's feet, and in return, this makes Laityn mad
• Laityn is the "cry baby." She dropped a toy and Kamryn picked it up and she instantly became mad until we gave the toy back! Oh boy!
Its so hard to believe they are 1/2 a year old already. Time really does fly. I remember when we were in NICU time crawled. Now its a complete blur. I'm sure it will be this way for a while! We are so incredibly blessed by our family and how far the girls have come.

Pumpkin Patch 2013
We continued the yearly tradition and headed out to Diane's pumpkin
patch. It was a little chilly, but not too bad. We enjoyed picking our
pumpkins out of the patch and catching up with the owner who I used to
work with in high school. Macyn enjoyed painting her pumpkin, the hay
ride, and picking out some for the twins! We love making this a
tradition and hope to continue!

Macyn - 4 Years Old!
Happy Birthday, Macyn! Its hard to believe you are four years old already! Just think, in 10 years you can get your permit - yikes! Macyn has quite the sassy personality and can also throw one heck of a temper tantrum. I usually ignore them, but she is an extremely strong willed child. It makes for some trying days, but we still love her just as much. She is always singing or dancing or skipping wherever she goes. There is never a quiet moment until she goes to bed (sometimes even that isn't that quiet!) She says some funny things and likes to tell it how it is. She loves to do puzzles and doing crafts. She also has a big imagination and can be dramatic. She loves being outside and going to the park, too. She has a big personality, but can get shy when lots of people are around. She also goes to preschool this year and she seems to be doing well.
At her checkup she was 39lbs and 44" tall - still in the 99th percentile! She wears size 5T shirts and pants, and 10-11 size shoes. So needless to say, shes still huge. I have decided to start doing a yearly interview with Macyn - it will be interesting to see how her answers change!

It's My Party & I'll Cry if I want To
See something missing from this picture?
If you guessed Macyn, that is correct. You see, she REALLY wanted to take a family picture of the ones who came to her birthday party. I used the self timer and as we were waiting for others to come out, she managed to take this super cute one with Grandma and Kamryn:

So, what happened between this picture and her missing out on the family picture? Well, take a look:
She threw a fit. I don't exactly know why, but after all the family left, I asked her what was wrong, and she said, "I wanted to take a family picture." Um.....thats what we were trying to do. Poor kid is going to kill me someday with these tantrum throwing pictures. But, that's what mom's are for, right?!
Family Birthday Party!
Since we have just a smidge more going on this year, we asked Macyn what she wanted to do for her birthday, and she chose Pizza Ranch. I am a-okay with that, instead of hosting everyone! We had lunch along with some birthday cake and gift opening. It was a nice get together. For the first year, I didn't make Macyn's birthday cake - I had the bakery do it. I wasn't for sure how it would turn out since they weren't even sure they could make a Sofia the First cake. Once I saw it for the first time it was completely awesome and Macyn loved it! Sure, it was more expensive than a home made cake, but the $17 price tag sure beats me trying to create one myself and mess up the kitchen all while watching three kids!

Its Party Time!
| Party Girls! |
We decorated the pumpkins with glitter and jewels. Even though I didn't get a picture of the finished pumpkins, they actually turned out really well!
Macyn and I also baked some cupcakes. I made some cheap cupcake picks by printing out some Sofia the First circles and taping them to toothpicks.
The party went well for the most part. Birthday girl ended up pouting in the bathroom for a while for unknown reasons, but once she got over that she was able to enjoy her party as well!

Kamryn & Laityn: 5 Month Checkup
We had the girl's 5 month checkup, and here are some updatres!
• Kamryn is 13lbs, 7oz and 25" long
• Laityn is 13lbs, 3oz and 25" long
• This puts them in the 30th percentile for their weight, and a little less than 10% for their height - with that being said, they are starting to catch up!
• The treatment for Laityn's hemangioma is working, and will have a checkup in Sioux Falls in a couple of weeks
• Kamryn still has a flat head, and if its not better by December she will need a helmet
• We have increased their bottling to 5oz now instead of 4
• We got the okay to start cereal - I am amazed at how fast they are catching on!
• We are hoping with the increased bottling and cereal, they will sleep through the night. Not so much yet, really looking forward to that day!
• Since the roll over constantly, we have decided to put them in separate cribs. Tonight is their first night separated, so we will see how that goes!
Case and point: I left the girls on the floor as I went to another room, and when I came back I found Laityn rolled onto Kamryn and was sucking on her head... by the look on Kamryn's face, I don't think she was too impressed!

It's Wedding Time!
My sister finally tied the knot and we had a weekend full of wedding fun! I was a bridesmaid, Macyn was the flower girl, and DH was an usher. As always, I end up taking alot of pictures, so I am usually not in a lot either. I got a few good ones, but never really got the twins..... anyways, it was a wonderful day and a beautiful wedding. I was honored to be a part of it!
