It's Wedding Time!

My sister finally tied the knot and we had a weekend full of wedding fun! I was a bridesmaid, Macyn was the flower girl, and DH was an usher. As always, I end up taking alot of pictures, so I am usually not in a lot either. I got a few good ones, but never really got the twins..... anyways, it was a wonderful day and a beautiful wedding. I was honored to be a part of it!

Easter Weekend

Since I have been putting off blogging, here is a quick rundown of how our Easter weekend went:
Easter Egg Hunt: We brought Macyn to the local egg hunt and it was complete chaos! I think she was overwhelmed in the crows of people trying to find eggs, but she managed to find a gold one! She received a new kickball along with a bag full of candy. She also had her face painted and got to hold a baby chick.

Easter Morning: We had a little surprise for Macyn - a new wagon filled with presents! They were mostly practical things, like socks, underwear, etc. but she didn't seem to mind. Now if only the weather would cooperate and we could actually go outside with her new wagon!
She also wore her new dress that my mom sewed for her. She was pretty excited and she loves to twirl in it!

Easter Lunch: We held Easter at our house this year since my parent's kitchen was all torn up. It turned out to be a good time. Macyn and Caden and the boys played downstairs while the girls just chilled upstairs. Macyn also was able to pull Caden in her new wagon out to his car when it was time for them to leave.
We had a great Easter with my family. It was a nice, relaxing day!

Mother's Day

We had a busy mother's day! First, we went to church and took some snapshots beforehand:
After church we had a get together at the park where DH grilled burgers and had a great time! After that it was time to come home to give Macyn a quick nap and then we were off again to my parent's house for supper - steak and chicken fajitas on the grill! They were delicious! I also helped out in making my fair share of side dishes, snacks, and dessert (recipes coming soon!)

• Corn with Noodles (not sure of the real name)
• Strawberry Cheesecake Salad
• Texas Caviar
• Butterfinger Pie

The biggest hits was the Texas Caviar and Strawberry Cheesecake Salad. I would have to agree. We also met up with my sisters and nephew Caden.
They are quite the kids. Even though they had a couple of spats here and there about sharing toys, they really do like each other!

I had a great Mother's Day spending it with family. Oh, and happy Mother's Day to you too, Mom :)

Happy Birthday Caden!

Our big boy nephew, Caden, turned 1! Let me tell you, he's a pretty laid back, cool kiddo. I wish I could know what that was like - I'm just used to a 2 years going on 13 high maintenance young lady ;) But, we love her just as much! Anyways, it's party time!
Presents! and bows!

She wasn't so sure about these party things!
Sorry, Macyn. No presents for you this time

Happy Birthday, Caden! We love you!

Labor Day Weekend

Our labor day weekend consisted of attending my high school's homecoming game, visiting my sister and nephew, relaxing, playing outside, and fishing (where I caught a fish!) It was nice to relax instead of being busy all the time. The weather was absolutely perfect too! Here are some pictures from our weekend.
Macyn and Mommy at the football game
Saturday we went and visited my sister and nephew, Caden and did some shopping along the way. She just bought a new house and we had to check that out. We also did a little bit of shopping (and reminded myself why I don't go shopping on weekends - too busy!) and had some time for Macyn and Caden to play together.
Caden is army crawling now and its so cute! Macyn was pretty good with him, except when she hid his dinosaur toy underneath the table and then pushed him over when he tried crawling to it. Oh boy! She also liked to tickle him, but gave him a nice hug and kiss before we left. She always gets super excited to see him and we often ask her if she "wants to go see Caden" if shes having a meltdown. She usually stops crying and gets excited instead ;)
We also spent quite a bit of time outside too. Macyn decided to draw some chalk pictures on the patio. She also spent time pushing her baby around in the stroller and pushing her in the swing, etc. I convinced her to come inside after being out for 2 hours for a snack, only to find out how upset she was that we were staying in after her snack.  Shortly after that, she completely konked out on DH's lap.
After a nap and lunch, we went out fishing. It was pretty windy and the pond was pretty rough. I, however, managed to catch a blue gill. Macyn wasn't quite impressed. She simply said, "blue?!" The girl knows her fish. Macyn managed to fall out of her chair and roll down the mud embankment and about only 2 feet from the pond. She was pretty scared, but we just gave her some Bugles and she calmed down. She was upset though, her hands were dirty. What a girly girl we have on our hands!
Fishing with Mommy

Let me tell you, she never put that fishing pole down!
All in all, we had a great outdoor weekend and visiting family. I could really get used to these 3 day weekends!

Relay for Life

My sister was in charge of the team for Sanford hospital - the Sanford "Tumornators." Clever name! We went to the relay and had fun walking around and looking at vendors. We especially had fun seeing cousin Caden again! Macyn loves her cousin Caden and gets super excited when you ask her if she wants to see him. Here are some of the snapshots we took of those two!

Also at the event they had those giant bouncy castles. There weren't any kids in them so I thought that would be the perfect time for Macyn to jump. I signed the waiver and in she went. She was having a great time until the generator ran out of gas and the entire castle deflated while she was still in it. Poor thing was screaming when all the walls were caving in! I felt so bad! We got her out safely by holding up the collapsing walls and pulling her out through the top. I guess that's what waivers are for, huh?!

Fourth of July Weekend

I have been really bad at keeping you two (well, maybe 3) people who read this, up to date. Its partly because I'm super busy, tired, and sometimes have so much to say I don't know where to start.

July 1
I celebrated my big old 26th birthday. We went out to eat at Famous Daves and then hit up a baseball game. We had 2nd row tickets behind home plate and they were only $11.50 each. It was a pretty cheap, fun thing to do! The also have fireworks every Friday night, so we got to see them after the game. Thankfully, I remembered  Macyn's ear plugs which means it was a tear-free firework session!
Mommy & Macyn with the card she gave me
My birthday cake DH had made for me - complete with 26 balloons!
A LOT of frosting!
Besides my card and cake, I also got new golf clubs from DH about a month or so ago. I have already used them 3 times!

July 2
DH had to work this Saturday, so I visited my parents who were camping nearby. I also met up with my sister and my nephew, and my future BIL. The kids had some fun splashing in the water - and it felt good too!

Kids in the pool
Sunbathing!
July 3 & 4
These last two days of the long weekend consisting of sitting at the campground, bringing a toddler back to her house at 11:45 PM because she was so bad, fishing, and chilling around at home. We also got in another round of golf on Monday as well. Then we lit off our illegal parachute man, smoke bombs, and snaps. Macyn liked to throw the snaps and if they didn't go off, she would step on them! We rounded out our celebration with some legal stuff too - snakes, party poppers, and sparklers.

That was my weekend in a nutshell!

Cousins

Cousin Caden came to visit and Macyn enjoyed sitting and playing with him on the couch.
Then they had a cousin bonding moment.
Then Macyn decided to share her toys with the "baby." First up, her pink blankie.
Next she thought she would share her glow worm:
 and then her baby
....add Sponge Bob
and a busy bee...
All done! Macyn was proud of her toy sharing with Caden. As for him.....
 ...not too enthused!

3 Month Photoshoot

I had the privilege to shoot my nephew Caden's 3 month pictures today. It is fun being able to shoot a baby who stays in one spot unlike my toddler who can't sit still for more than 5 seconds! I think I got some good shots (remember, I'm an amateur, not a professional) and broke them down into three categories:
It was fun playing dress up with a boy for a change, and hearing his coos and seeing his smiles! It's hard to believe he is 3 months already! What a proud Auntie I am :)

Brave Little Caden

You wouldn't be able to tell by the big smile on his face that this little guy had a 2 hour surgery the night before! We are thankful all our prayers have been answered in keeping him safe through all of this. We are also thankful for the comfort his Mommy & Daddy had during this time. We went and saw Caden today and he is doing so well! The surgery went smooth and everything is draining the way its supposed to be. My sister even told me that the nurses said he was the best baby ever! What a brave little man!
While we were there they even pulled his IV drip and unhooked his heart monitor so we could hold him. I even attempted to feed him, but I'm outta whack with babies. I forget what I have to do!
It was nice being able to hold him through all of this. It really was an awesome day to see how well he is doing and how much he smiled. Thank goodness for answered prayers!

Baptism

Our nephew, Caden was baptized on Sunday. It was a great day and he was so good in church. He was baptized in the church where I grew up in & it was nice to visit there again. Here are some photo highlights from baptism:After the service we had some gift opening and lunch. I made a double batch of Wild Rice & Cheese Soup and it was a hit! I had at least 4 people ask for the recipe. We also had this soup, home made chicken noodle, chili soup, and cabbage soup. I went for the home made chicken noodle and it was delicious. We also had ham sandwiches, cake, & peanut butter bars that were to die for! After lunch the kiddos found a nice place to sit - right on Grandpa's lap.During the service Macyn saw Grandpa in the back of the church & he started waving. She threw a fit because she wanted to be with him (during the prayers, mind you) and had to be taken out. Needless to say, Grandpa got a talkin' to after church :)

It was a great day with family and friends. Congratulations Caden, we love you!
