You know you're from Iowa...

...when you get a "farmer's tan!"
Macyn played outside ALL day on Saturday  with her cousins resulting in this farmer's tan. The sad thing is, she is already tanner than me (doesn't take much). After spending more time outside, I think it's pretty much a permanent tan line. You can even see it when she's taking a bath!

Crazy Hair

Even though it has taken about 18 months for Macyn to get a relatively good amount of hair, there was no escaping the hair monster during her nap:
Talk about a mow hawk! Or should I say, "faux hawk?"

Mother's Day Photoshoot

In honor of Mother's day, Hills was having a FREE mini session when you bring your kids! I decided to take advantage of this 100% free offer and I was sure glad I did! I told Macyn before we went that all I wanted for Mother's Day was for her to smile, and this is how she responded:
I was so happy! She really must love her Mommy :) . The good deal didn't stop there though, you even got a FREE 8x8 custom collage. Here is how ours turned out:
I LOVE this. Since I went and got our pictures taken, they also gave Mom's free chocolate. Lindor balls to be exact. AND discounted prints. Sometimes the best things in life are free. A picture of me with my peanut is one of the best gifts ever.

Door Opener

You just know when you see this mischievious smile on your kid that they are up to something:
In this case, it is Macyn showing off her new skill of opening up the doors!
This creates a problem considering she can go downstairs any time she wants, and can open any door at any time too - including closets! So not ready for this. I guess its time to start buying those plastic door things for the knobs. I even caught her trying to open the front door tonight to go outside. I think we best be locking our doors at all times!

Just like Grandma

My in laws stopped by the other morning on their way to church and we were quite surprised to find my MIL and Macyn dressed the same! It was a perfect opportunity for a photo op!

Pint-sized Swiffer

Macyn has been really into helping clean around the house, whether it be dusting, putting her clothes in the hamper, or sweeping the floor. I decided to make her own sized Swiffer! She always likes to drag it out of the closet, so I threw a cleaning pad on it and took out a few "joints" and ta-da! Macyn's own little Swiffer! Just so you folks know, I have already had to change the microfiber cloth since the first one was dirty from all her cleaning. I sure hope she keeps this up!

Sunday Best

Macyn's Easter outfit this year consisted of a hand-me-down dress from her cousin. It was a salmon colored plaid dress with a shrug for on top. She wore her peep-toe wedges to complete the look. I may be biased, but I thought she looked awfully darn cute going for her Sunday stroll on her trike :)

We also tried to get a family photo. It didn't work too well and we couldn't get Macyn to smile. That's okay though, its the funny pictures that we remember the most!
