New Years Resolutions
I usually have a few New Year's resolutions each year, but usually always fail. They mostly consisted of losing weight, exercising, and eating right. This mostly lasts for a month or two but never really throughout the whole year. This past December, I saw on Facebook, a post from Life 96.5 stating "Read the Bible in a Year." To be honest, I have tried reading The Bible, but even that seemed to get thrown by the wayside after a while. I decided to look into this more, and found out its a daily email with your scriptures already planned out. It is from the website www.bibleinayear.org and its pretty neat how you can customize it to your liking. You can choose what day to start (I chose January 1), what version of The Bible you want to read (I chose NIV) and what order you want to begin reading. The options were reading it straight through, alternating new and old testament, or read in chronological order. I chose the chronological order, which I really like because then I know when events happened. The daily emails have about 3 chapters of The Bible in each, and takes maybe 10 minutes to read. This is an easy way to continue a goal I have of reading The Bible. I mean, who doesn't check their e-mail daily?! I will be honest, I am a couple of days behind just for the mere fact I like to concentrate on what I am reading and completely understand it. Every time I check my email its a constant reminder of what to do - read The Bible. I don't think asking to take 10-15 minutes of your day is too much to ask. And some days when I don't feel I can concentrate 100%, I read it the next day. This is one resolution I know I can achieve, and am looking forward to reading the whole Bible.
A Growing Girl
BUT....the other night I drove past our local consignment shop and saw everything was 50% off. I decided to go take a look. I usually don't buy anything there because their prices are ridiculous for used clothing. But I was in luck today - I got about 6 fleece sleepers, 2 non-fleece sleepers, 1 pair of jeans, a 2 piece long sleeved outfit, and 6 extra Medela breast pump bottles for $30. Not too bad if you ask me! I might just have to wait until everything is 75% and buy some more goodies. I would have taken a picture of all my finds, but they are in the wash, so I figured a new picture of Macyn would be just fine. :)

Macyn Withdrawal
I guess I just always pictured her being laid on my chest the instant she was born, and I missed out on that. ..........I just don't want to miss out on anything else. I have even had people tell me how she laughs in her swing (I have yet to see that). It makes me a little sad when others get to experience things with my child before I do, because I am at work. It stinks. But the good in all of this-is not taking our time together for granted. I try and cuddle her and spend as much time as possible with her when I am at home and sing to her (even though I can't carry a tune) and read books, and lay with her on the floor and just stare at her and smile.
Pretty much I miss her a lot and love her a lot.....and I love being a mommy.

UPS Man of the Month
Every year at work we always get calendars from random vendors, different companies, etc. So when I realized I needed a new 2010 one for my desk the only one left (that wasn't huge) was none other than the UPS calendar. As I flip through it shows a couple of UPS trucks in the mountains, a UPS lady, and these two UPS hunks
What a way to kick off January 2010 with this UPS hunk...on a motorcycle. Really? and they just had to add the caption of "Delivering 1 package to every 2 people on Earth" so where is he going to put this, AHEM package on his motorcycle? There really isn't any room, which makes me think there *may* be a hidden meaning behind this month, one that I don't really want to think about.
And Mr. August over here is flexing his muscles, which aren't very big, which makes me think he must not lift very big packages, or maybe since he looks 13, he's not really a UPS guy....and besides, they do have laws against child labor so the best he could do was pose for the calendar.
Even though I appreciate the free complimentary calendar from UPS, I am swapping it for a NASCAR calendar my hubby brought home from work. Therefore I don't have to feel awkward having Mr. January staring me down all day at work. And besides, my new, awesome NASCAR calendar will make one of my co-workers jealous.
